Whitefish Legacy Partners and the City of Whitefish is submitting a grant proposal to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Recreation Trails Program requesting funding to continue building the Whitefish Trail (the Trail Runs Through It) under the Special Project Set-Aside Account. • Importance of permanent recreational access to health and well-being of the community, close to the community
• Identify how you use the trail – hike, bike, run, bird watching, equestrian use, biking club, trail clubs
• Economic benefit of trail system near Whitefish to recreation based economy
• Innovative partnerships with state and local governments and private landowners
